Almost There

On May 12th, it’ll be one year since my first post here and the start of my Leica Year project. Over the next month, I’ll be busy wrapping stuff up by picking final selections and finishing work prints for all the film I’ve shot. Lots to do. With respect to the blog, I plan to write three more posts covering the film, the lens, and finally the camera in a (hopefully) tidy effort to summarize my experiences with each and where I stand with them in the last month of the project. Will I still shoot film? Is one lens enough? Will I sell the Leica after I’m done? All will be revealed.

With the end of my Leica Year comes the end of this blog, but not the end of my blogging. I plan to carry on with Tumblr on my main site, The Camera Simplex, in June. Like this one, it will be a daily photo journal of current pictures and projects I’m working on with some related writing thrown in semi-regularly. It’ll be more casual and personal than what I’ve done here but will still remain solidly stuck (topically speaking) to photography. Posting volume will remain a steady trickle of 1-2 posts a day.

If that sounds good, I’d like you to stick with me. Tumblr may not be the perfect blogging platform, but the sense of community here, especially around film photography and process, make it worth staying put. Likewise, if I’m not following you and you’d like me to, please drop me a line—especially if you’re someone who likes to make your own pictures and share them. I’d like to hear from you.
